RAUTAHAT, Aug 25: The Rautahat district headquarters Gaur has been placed under curfew after the situation became tense here in course of the protest movement at the call of the United Democratic Front. The District Administration Office (DAO) clamped the curfew in Gaur Municipality area from.

The Rautahat DAO issued the curfew orders to be effective at all the Wards of the Municipality following a clash between Front activists and police today, Chief District Officer Madan Bhujel said.

Police resorted to using force after the shutdown enforcers and demonstrators smashed the window panes at the District Court and the District Administration Office buildings this afternoon.

In this connection police lobbed four teargas shells to disperse the crowd. A large number of security personnel are deployed around the area now as the demonstrators are still hanging around there. RSS
